Mr. Stauffer has been involved in the design and manufacture of electronic components, controls and systems for over 30 years and currently has several patents pending. Gene has worked for and with companies such as Johnson Controls, Honeywell and Carrier Corporation.
Mr. Stauffer has been the leading designer / developer of critical and innovative electronic controls for the Diagnostic Leak Detector industry since 1999. His advanced control designs brought sophisticated computer and temperature control to the industry while improving product performance and safety. In the Smoke Pro® line, Mr. Stauffer, eliminated the need for nitrogen to prevent dieseling within the smoke generator. Mr. Stauffer’s designs continue to be used by all major manufactures in smoke technology today including Redline Detection, Snap-On, Vacutec, OTC, Motorvac, Global Leak Detection and Star EnviroTech.
One of the greatest accomplishments in developing the Smoke Pro, Mr. Stauffer believes, was bringing world class equipment down to a size and price so that all technicians could use the technology. “Previously, smoke machines sold for $2,000 to over $5,000, and at Redline we developed a superior and safer technology in the Smoke Pro at a much lower price” Gene remarked at a conference recently. “We also eliminated the need for expensive proprietary oils as well as dangerous, high-pressure compressed nitrogen gas cylinders in the hostile automotive repair environment.”
